My path to building bttrfly has been shaped by a career rooted in hospitality, event production, and community building — and by lived experience navigating family life across different cities.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by family — cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and close family friends who were just as much a part of our world, lovingly called tías and tíos. That early sense of extended family shaped how I understand community, belonging, and the importance of support that goes beyond traditional definitions.

Before bttrfly, I spent years working in spaces where people and connection mattered most. Hospitality taught me how meaningful experiences are created through care, trust, and attention to detail. Event production showed me how communities come together — and how much intention it takes to make people feel welcomed, seen, and supported. Community building taught me that belonging doesn’t happen by accident; it’s designed.

Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for functional, practical design — design that reduces friction, makes information easier to understand, and supports people in real moments, not just visually. I’ve always been drawn to creating experiences that feel intuitive, thoughtful, and useful, where form follows purpose.

When I became a parent and began navigating family life across different cities, I saw a familiar gap emerge. Finding trusted fertility and preconception resources, childcare, wellness providers, and local support felt fragmented and overwhelming. The help existed, but it was scattered across word-of-mouth recommendations, group chats, and endless online searches — with no single place that reflected how families actually live and grow.

That experience stayed with me.

Drawing from both my professional background and personal journey, I envisioned bttrfly as more than a platform. I wanted to build a thoughtfully designed space that brings together trusted family-centered resources, businesses, and community in a way that feels accessible, inclusive, and human.

As a founder, I remain deeply hands-on. I lead with empathy, intention, and a strong belief that families come in many forms — and support should meet people where they are. Everything we build at bttrfly is guided by the same principles that shaped my early life and career: hospitality, connection, functional design, and storytelling with purpose.

Today, I’m building bttrfly alongside the community it serves, with care for every stage of the family journey and respect for the many ways people define family.

Hi, I’m Pia.
