Who Do We Trust With Our Families?
Like many families during the pandemic, ours was navigating uncertainty, loneliness and a deep need for community and connection.
We moved between different cities, searching for a sense of belonging, a stronger support system and, perhaps, an easier way to manage family life.
But every move meant starting over—not only with our home, but with everything around it.

We had to find a new community. New childcare providers. New doctors, services, activities and resources. All the people and places a family depends on to feel supported and settled.
I turned to recommendations from family and friends whenever I could. When those weren’t available, I spent hours searching online, moving between platforms and reading countless reviews, trying to determine which information was relevant and whom I could trust.
The process was exhausting.
It consumed time I could never get back—time that could have been spent being more present with my child. And it often left me with more information, but not necessarily more confidence.
I kept thinking: There has to be an easier way.
What if parents didn’t have to drown in online research or sort through endless, irrelevant noise? What if there were one simple place where families could search for what they need, ask questions, receive relevant recommendations, and connect with the businesses and providers that support family life?
A platform created to give parents and caregivers relief, convenience, and greater peace of mind.

That is how bttrfly was born.
What we’ve built may be new, but the concept itself is not unfamiliar. It is built on a simple and genuine intention: to make family life easier.
bttrfly brings together the tools families already turn to for help—the connection of a community, the simplicity of a directory, the convenience of a marketplace and the guidance of technology designed around their needs.
It is a place where parents and caregivers can browse resources, learn more about the people and businesses behind them, and connect directly when they find the right fit.
It is also a place where family-focused businesses can be discovered, tell their stories and build meaningful relationships with the families they serve.
And at the center is Emmy, our AI co-parent, created to make searching feel less overwhelming. Families can simply ask for what they need, and Emmy helps guide them toward relevant businesses, services and support.
Technology alone cannot create trust.
Trust is built through transparency, shared experiences, complete and accurate information, and the confidence that comes from feeling understood. It grows when parents help one another, when businesses show families who they truly are, and when families have the information they need to make decisions that feel right for them.
That is the kind of trust we want bttrfly to support.
Throughout September, we’ll explore what trust means in family life: the questions parents can ask before choosing a provider, what families look for before reaching out to a business, and how thoughtful recommendations can make an overwhelming search feel a little more human. We’ll also introduce you to some of the people and businesses working every day to earn the trust of the families they serve.
bttrfly began as a solution I needed for my own family. Today, we are building it for every parent and caregiver searching for trusted support, meaningful connection and a little more peace of mind.
